BLI – Missing and Exploited Immigrant Women and Children
At BLI, we are committed to the urgent and compassionate mission of assisting immigrant women and children who have gone missing, become victims of exploitation, or have been unjustly separated from their families. Our focus is on providing comprehensive, multidisciplinary support that addresses the complex challenges these vulnerable individuals face, particularly within the context of the immigration system.
Our organization is driven by the belief that every woman and child, regardless of their immigration status, deserve to be safe, heard, and reunited with their loved ones. We understand that many immigrant women and children fall victim to exploitation, trafficking, and neglect, and we are dedicated to fighting for their rights, safety, and dignity. We strive to fill the critical gaps in services available to these individuals, ensuring they receive the attention, resources, and advocacy they deserve.
To achieve our mission, BLI offers a range of essential services to support families in crisis:
24/7 Hotline Services:
We provide multiple access points for families and concerned individuals to report missing persons, seek assistance, or provide tips about potential cases of exploitation. Our toll-free hotline, email hotline, anonymous tip line, and dedicated emergency response systems are available 24/7 to ensure immediate help is always within reach.
Pro Bono Legal Assistance:
Understanding that legal barriers can often be a major obstacle for immigrant families seeking justice, we partner with experienced, compassionate attorneys who offer pro bono legal services. These attorneys work to ensure that families have the legal support they need to navigate the complexities of immigration law, child welfare systems, and other legal challenges that may arise while trying to reunite with their loved ones.
Temporary Housing and Shelter Assistance:
For families who have been displaced, or women and children who are at risk, we provide access to safe, temporary housing. We work with local shelters, community organizations, and housing networks to ensure that those in need have a place to stay while they await reuniting with their family members or while navigating other challenges.
Investigative Services:
BLI works with experienced private investigators who specialize in locating missing persons within the immigrant community. These investigators use advanced techniques and collaborate with law enforcement agencies to search for missing women and children who may have fallen through the cracks of the immigration system, including those lost in custody with non-governmental agencies or who have been trafficked or exploited.
Collaboration with Law Enforcement:
BLI actively partners with local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies, ensuring that each case of a missing or exploited immigrant woman or child is handled with the utmost urgency and professionalism. We work in tandem with authorities to gather information, share resources, and advocate for swift action to locate and reunite families. Our commitment to collaboration ensures that our efforts are both effective and coordinated.
Reunification with Families:
Our ultimate goal is to reunite families who have been separated due to the immigration system or other exploitative circumstances. Whether through direct recovery efforts, legal advocacy, or coordination with law enforcement, we are dedicated to ensuring that women and children are returned to the safety and care of their families. We work tirelessly to remove the barriers that prevent families from being together and strive to create a pathway to safety, stability, and healing.
Advocacy and Education:
In addition to direct intervention, BLI works to raise awareness about the specific vulnerabilities that immigrant women and children face, particularly in relation to human trafficking, abuse, and exploitation within the immigration system. We provide educational resources to immigrant communities, law enforcement, and the general public, empowering individuals to identify and respond to the warning signs of trafficking, abuse, and family separation.
At BLI, we recognize the deep emotional and psychological trauma that occurs when women and children are separated from their families or subjected to exploitation. That’s why we approach each case with compassion, urgency, and a focus on healing and empowerment. Our work is driven by a deep commitment to justice, human dignity, and the belief that no one should be left behind.
We are a lifeline for immigrant families facing one of the most difficult challenges they can imagine: the loss or exploitation of their loved ones. By providing comprehensive support, legal representation, investigative services, and working in close collaboration with law enforcement and other partners, we ensure that every woman and child has a chance to return to the safety and love of their family.
At BLI, we firmly believe that every life matters. We will continue to work relentlessly to reunite families, protect immigrant women and children, and ensure their voices are heard, their rights are protected, an
